This is a pig head that has been carved by hand in wax and made into a very comfortable ring. This devilish pigs face is 3/4" x 3/4" and is set on a nice smooth half round band. The face has been lightly oxidized and is available in sterling silver or bronze. My maker's mark is located on the band.
When I attended school at ART STUDIO FUJI in Florence, Italy I had taken a Lost Wax Cast class upon many other jewelry making classes. In this specific class we were assigned to carve a 3 dimensional object from wax. I had bought a large finger puppet of a pig head (from the Thrift Shop) as a point of reference and was able to transform my wax into a detailed profile of a pig's face with a slight smirk. Then I made it into a ring! The amount of compliments I have received on this creation is a great reminder of why I love to be a jeweler. Not only do I love every aspect of the making process but to be able to share my jewelry with the appreciator is a magical force. The entire design and creation process from start to finish is done by hand.
